The following writing workshop, co-facilitated with my friend and colleague, Kate Thompson, offers a three-part writing exercise to help build resilience in challenging times. Today, many around the world are experiencing unprecedented stress and loss. In times like these, it can be tough to remember that we humans are innately resilient. We may have to work more consciously to rebound from difficulties.
As someone living very close the fires burning right now in Sonoma and Napa, I hear stories, every day, of people rising to the occasion: giving of themselves to help others, even while their own homes may be burned to the ground. At times of crisis the very best in us tends to come out. But it takes a lot out of us as well, and we need to build our inner strength.
Kate and I will be offering two more free audio workshops on Writing for Resilience. Meanwhile, this first one is given in the spirit of healing during troubled times.
